"Isadora's Dancers"
When I recorded "Isadora's Dancers" 30 years ago in Electric Lady Studios in NYC we wanted a choir on it but couldn't find a professional one so my manager Dennis Katz had his daughter's 4th Grade class brought to the studio in a big yellow school bus and we recorded them early in the morning. And then in Le Havre I had a real choir of full grown women who are about the age these 4th graders would be today! Recorded live in Le Havre, France on February 4, 2006. "Innocence Of Love"
When I was on Warner Chappell Music Publishing in the 90's I would come to New York every so often and they would hook me up with other Warner Chappell songwriters and we would lock ourselves in somebodies apartment for an afternoon with the avowed intention of coming out with a song. And most times we did! This song was written with the great Willie Nile in his apartment down in Greenwich Village. We loved it and thought it would make a great theme for a Children's movie but Warner Chappell was expecting something much heavier from us. Come on, even hard core troubadours have their vulnerable sides too!

Garland Jeffries and I go way back - when I use to hang out in New York's "Max's Kansas City" back in 1972 they were always playing his hit "Wild In The Streets" and I wanted to meet this great songwriter and singer. Shortly afterward I did and over the years we've become close pals and on a few marvelous occasions we've sung together. Garland was my special guest (along with Chris Spedding) at the Hot Point Festival in Switzerland in 1989 and a live album was released from that night's performance. Recently he played in Paris to a packed house at Cafe La Danse and asked me to join him to sing my song "On Elvis Presley's Birthday" adding his own personal touch on the lyrics as only he can. What a night! And very special thanks to Philippe Marrec for recording it all for posterity. (requires Flash)

When I was asked to participate in a "viral movie" for the delayed release of the Unisoft Ghost Recon Video Game my first reaction was "What the hell is that?" But director David Jankowski patiently explained the project and it sounded like fun and a kind of non-endorsement. It seems that Ubisoft was late in their release of the latest version of their Video game and yet they wanted to keep the game current in people's hearts and minds during the Christmas shopping season so they thought a series of funny short films would do the trick. We filmed this in the midst of the rioting in the Paris "Bainlieus" (suburbs) last autumn and right outside the Unbisoft headquarters a few cars had been torched the night before. As with all outdoor filming a small crowd gathered to watch what we were doing and I'm sure some of these guys were burning cars and running wild in the streets the night before. There was no reaction to the filming until I smashed the guitar at the end which really made them smile and high five each other as if to say, "Now this guy - he's really violent! Much worse then us, man!" Actually, I felt guilty about destorying the guitar and I apologized to it. But this is the price I had to pay to join the ranks of Jimi Hendrix and Pete Townsend I suppose. The song I sing "I'm Still Mad" is actually a real song I wrote back in the 70's but never recorded ... and now it lives on in infamy! (requires Flash)
